The big winner on this Grammy night was America’s Original Art form, America’s Classical music with soul, Jazz. It was a surprise to everyone, except maybe Prince, (who recognized her tremendous talent early on and added her as opening act on his most recent tour) including Esperanza Spalding that she is now a Grammy Award winner.

The Times of India invites the entire nation to come together to help create this mosaic, with A Day in the Life of India. All you need to do is to shoot a photo or video , draw a cartoon or just tell us a joke , on anything you feel makes India, India. You can come up entirely with your own idea of what to create, or take up one of various assignments we have drawn up under each of these categories. For example, a video on “the chaos on our roads”, or a photograph on bizarre signboards messages.

Trend Alert – America Reaching Out to the Cuban People – Limited Opening of Travel
These steps build upon the President’s April 2009 actions to help reunite divided Cuban families; to facilitate greater telecommunications with the Cuban people; and to increase humanitarian flows to Cuba.
The directed changes described herein will be enacted through modifications to existing Cuban Assets Control and Customs and Border Protection regulations and policies and will take effect upon publication of modified regulations in the Federal Register within 2 weeks.

DreamWorks Announces First Animated Musical, Monkeys of Bollywood
Composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Stephen Schwartz have been hired along with husband and wife producing duo Gurinder Chadha and Paul Berge. Rahman scored 127 Hours and Slumdog Millionaire, while Schwartz was the lyricist for Broadway’s Wicked and worked on the TV show Glee.
