APPLE IPAD WITH HANDSApple is touted on its web site as a magical and revolutionary product that will debut at an unbelievable price. Will it be the best way to experience the web, email and all types of new media. Will its power, speed and functionality exceed our expectations for a device that is this thin. 150,000 apps and growing can only be a huge asset to its certain popularity. The name of course is not a surprise to anyone. IPad, ITablet, both work very well. IPad is the perfect complement to IPod.

It is clear that the IPad has already been annointed King of the tablet PC’S, once it is released and is consumer tested by a large amount of users will we really know what the iPad mean for the world of social media? It is clear that the ipad through existing and new apps will integrate with new media which includes social media like no other device before it. The biggest impact will not come from the first generation device released in April, the biggest impact will come from 2nd and 3rd generation ipads and the devices that are developed to compete with the ipad. So for now lets look at the impact the IPad will have on social media with the integration leadership coming from the apps.

1. Accessibility: Most social media platforms can be accessed on the mobile web, but how accessible are they really? It will be easier to navigate through social media platforms on your IPad. The convenience of being able to access your social media networks via mobile phone may outweigh the limited functions available through the mobile web, but the fact is that those functions are important and should be more accessible. The iPad is both mobile and functional. iPad users will be much more connected to their social media outlets.

2. Eco, Social, Family and Business App Development: Steve Jobs touched on improvements to app development as the iPad is introduced into the market. Games, social media, and organizational apps will be much more advanced and complex on the iPad. But, what about new apps for eco, social, family and businesses? The app store currently does not provide many tools for tracking and managing social media presence for businesses. With the iPad’s enhanced functionality, these apps will soon be introduced in the app store.

3. Trend Forward Device: We all witnessed the excitement and media coverage about the iPad yesterday, today and will continue in the future. The iPadis trendforward, Apple continues to be trend forward in its design, functionality and marketing, the IPad dominates trending topics on Twitter and will continue to be the subject of many users’ status updates on Facebook. Much of this excitement has to do with the branding of the product as the “iPad.” This has set the tone for the iPad’s presence on social media and its position as the leader in tablet PC’s and potentially digital reading devices. This device has the potential to be change the world or one small part of it, How we utilize and integrate social media in our lives.
